About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall and Painter Technician to join our team at On Side Restoration. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality drywall and painting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets
  • Mud, sand, and finish drywall surfaces
  • Tear out old or damaged drywall
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using a trowel and broad knife
  • Tape and embed joints
  • Texture all types of surfaces
  • Prepare and protect job sites

Painter Responsibilities

  • Estimate material quantities by measuring surfaces, reviewing scopes, sketches, and work orders
  • Remove old coatings using solvents, heat, sanding, wire brushing, or water and abrasive blasting
  • Prepare surfaces for covering by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots
  • Apply undercoat primers or sealers before painting, or apply sizing before wallpapering
  • Match specified colors using premixed paints or mixing color and thinning and drying additives
  • Apply liquid coatings such as paint, stain, or varnish to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
  • Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged, and layered
  • Apply paper, vinyl, or natural and synthetic fabric wallcoverings

General Repair Technician Responsibilities

  • Repair wooden structures of all sorts
  • Framing
  • Ceiling installation, knockdown, and texturing
  • Insulation and vapour barrier installation
  • Installation of doors, trim, moldings, and baseboards
  • Hardware installation
  • Cabinetry

Requirements

  • Experience working in construction environments with tools and skills to use them
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, passion for quality, and pride in work
  • Safety mindset
  • Valid driver's license and clean criminal record (we do check)
  • Ability to communicate in English
