Job Title: Transport Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Transport Coordinator for one of our long-term clients in Calgary, AB.

Job Summary:

The Transport Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations and ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials. This is a contract position for 3 months, with the possibility of an extension.

Responsibilities:
  • Run queries in the TMS system for report generation and load tendering.
  • Plan interbranch purchase orders (POs) and build the meatcon plan.
  • Prepare reports for local city pickups and utilize reports from other provinces via email to gather information for the meatcon plan.
  • Arrange carriers for respective distribution centers (DCs) based on consolidated information and determine labor allocation for meatcon operations.
  • Answer emails from various internal and external parties, including vendors and supply chain analysts, to communicate rush orders, delays, and investigate issues with pickups and deliveries.
  • Complete additional reports related to the AB inbound desk and send them to carriers for departure and arrival time updates for store deliveries.
  • Upload completed reports back into the system for record-keeping.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain or logistics is a plus.
  • Proven experience in transport coordination or a related role.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and report generation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in email communication and data entry.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry, including carrier selection and labor allocation, is preferred.
