Bruce Power is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect to join our Information Technology division. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's technology landscape and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and model business strategy, identifying capability needs and new opportunities for technology investments.
- Develop technology strategies and roadmaps to support desired business outcomes and sustainably manage the technology solutions landscape.
- Research and develop emerging technology viewpoints and industry trends for applicability to Bruce Power.
- Work with other architects and technical leaders to define architectural standards and patterns.
- Develop architecture governance frameworks and processes to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Act as a mentor and subject matter expert for internal IT staff in solution architecture and design.
- Maintain and recommend changes to IT Security Guidance standards to accommodate new patterns and opportunities.
- Provide strategic planning and oversight for short, medium, and long-term projects, managing and optimizing the flow of value through IT portfolios.
- Assist with economic decision-making by supporting feature and capability estimation.
- Help manage risks and dependencies, escalating and tracking impediments.
- Encourage collaboration between teams and Solution Architects, ensuring IT solutions align with defined business strategies and meet long-term objectives.
- Knowledge and understanding of technology and abstract concepts, with the ability to analyze.
- Ability to develop technology strategies and associated architecture roadmaps to drive business goals, with awareness from a technical, financial, and organizational perspective.
- Practical experience with capability-based assessment and modeling, and creating associated capability maps.
- Experience working with a number of architecture frameworks and understanding the importance of adapting to organizational needs.
- Experience with software development.
- Solid conceptual understanding of technology components, DevOps tools, and practices.
- Strong knowledge of one or more standard formal Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
- Proven experience in building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including senior-level executive sponsors.
- Experience in defining strategic roadmaps and establishing priorities across competing needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to influence leaders, drive change, and transformation while working across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to demonstrate the positive role of Enterprise Architecture in risk identification and mitigation.
- Hands-on experience with software development processes and procedures to understand team needs, including fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
- Experience with Lean Portfolio Management facilitation at the program, portfolio, and executive levels.
- Excellent analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support.
- Ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts and technical information to both non-technical and technical staff.
- This knowledge is normally considered to be gained through successful completion of a four-year university degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering; or Commerce/Business discipline.
