Junior Drafter for Steel Structures

Position Overview:

Are you a recent graduate in technical drawing or exploring a new career path? Do you have a strong interest in steel structures and a desire to enhance your skills? If so, you may be the perfect fit for the Junior Drafter for Steel Structures role at Conn-x, a leading firm specializing in connection engineering and shop drawings for steel structure manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and create shop drawings tailored for steel structure production.
  • Identify potential erection challenges, improper connections, missing components for galvanization, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Interpret engineering sketches and possess foundational knowledge in engineering concepts, including connection capacity (calculations provided by SDS2).
  • Familiarity with both metric and imperial measurement systems, along with welding symbols.
  • Communicate fluently in both French and English, in written and spoken forms.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hold a completed Vocational Studies Diploma (DEP).
