We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at School District #53 (Okanagan Similkameen). As a key member of our facilities department, you will provide journeyman-level mechanical services for our district fleet and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide skilled mechanical services for district fleet and equipment under the supervision of the Director of Facilities.
- Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and maintenance of our facilities.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with vehicles and equipment.
- Journeyman certification as set out in the BC Industry Training Authority Act (or equivalent inter-provincial technical qualification).
- Heavy duty mechanic with BC Commercial Vehicle Inspector certification.
- Truck/transport mechanic with BC Commercial Vehicle Inspector certification.
- Automotive mechanic with BC Commercial Vehicle Inspector certification and air brake repair endorsement.
- Proven knowledge and/or previous experience working on electric buses.
- A competitive hourly rate of $37.74.
- A comprehensive benefit package after completion of the probation period.
