About the Role

Mosaic Brick and Stone Masonry Ltd. is seeking a skilled Masonry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to build residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and Prepare Materials: Estimate the materials, tools, and equipment required for projects and prepare them accordingly.
  • Lay Bricks and Concrete Blocks: Lay bricks, stone, or similar materials to provide veneer facing and construct and install prefabricated masonry units.
  • Read Blueprints and Calculate Materials: Read sketches and blueprints to calculate the materials required for projects.
  • Work at Heights and Instruct Apprentices: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and instruct apprentices as needed.
  • Cut and Trim Bricks and Concrete Blocks: Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
  • Supervise Other Workers: Supervise other workers and ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required standards.
Requirements
  • Bricklayer Trade Certification: Possess a Bricklayer Trade Certification and other relevant certifications such as Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and Own Vehicle: Possess a valid driver's licence and own a vehicle.
  • Physical Demands: Be physically demanding and able to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work accurately and efficiently.
