Job Overview

The IBI Group's Global Architecture & Urbanism Division integrates the talents of our Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places' capabilities, and CRTKL's design leadership across multiple sectors to deliver a wide array of solutions that prioritize human-centric design, sustainability, and innovative technology.

The Calgary office is seeking a Project Manager/Architect to enhance its expanding Government and Civic Practice Group. This role encompasses overseeing all project phases from design to construction. Success in this position demands a solid understanding of building science, exceptional communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.

We collaborate with clients globally to design, support, and improve smart, safe, and sustainable environments where individuals can live, work, learn, and thrive. The impact of these spaces on people's lives is profound, whether they involve new residential areas, commercial establishments, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, or logistics centers. Communities flourish when their environments are thoughtfully designed and managed to meet their needs.

In the field of Engineering, you will contribute to the creation of some of the most iconic and transformative structures and spaces, enhancing the world around us by facilitating easier journeys and fostering public spaces that unite people.

  • Coordinate with sub-consultant engineers and supervise the generation of technical working drawings.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and/or lead a team to ensure timely project completion.
  • Guide team members in document production to navigate all project phases from design to construction administration.
  • Engage directly with clients and the consultant team to ensure effective project delivery, maintaining clear communication to incorporate all necessary information into project requirements.
  • Possess a solid understanding of local bylaws, codes, and relevant planning materials.
  • Responsible for quality assurance, project execution, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Responsibilities include contract administration, field services, and preparing meeting minutes and project schedules.
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with AIBC.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project coordination experience in a related field.
  • Experience working collaboratively within teams, providing support across multiple projects.
  • Proficient in maintaining project documentation, particularly project management tracking tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively engage with staff at all organizational levels.
  • Strong professional and proposal writing capabilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • A strong team player with a collaborative spirit.
  • Familiarity with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project, MS SharePoint is desirable.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and various graphic software.
