- Preventative Care: Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases, promoting overall health and well-being.
- Patient Education: Advise patients on healthcare options, providing guidance on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents to government authorities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and interests are protected and respected.
- Care Coordination: Coordinate or manage primary patient care, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless treatment.
- Acute Care Management: Provide acute care management, responding to emergency situations and providing critical care when needed.
- Counseling and Support: Offer counseling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, promoting emotional well-being and resilience.
- Education: Hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry from a recognized institution.
- Certifications and Licenses: Possess relevant certifications and licenses, such as the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC).
- Work Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of healthcare principles and practices.
