Job Title: High School Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our team at J. Addison School Inc.

About the Role

This is a temporary position that requires a highly organized and motivated individual to teach students in a boarding house/school setting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise students on course selection and provide guidance on vocational and personal matters
  • Assign and correct homework, as well as develop course content
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia
  • Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum
  • Administer and correct tests, and provide tutoring assistance
  • Teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and laboratory, shop, and field studies
  • Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental, and social development and their school readiness
Requirements
  • Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate
  • Vulnerable sector check
  • Dependability, excellent oral and written communication skills, initiative, interpersonal awareness, and organized
