Job Title: Specialist, Intervenor for the Deafblind Community

At CNIB Deafblind Community Services, we are committed to empowering individuals who are Deafblind to live independently and engage fully with their communities.

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist, Intervenor to join our team. As a Specialist, Intervenor, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication and access to information for individuals who are Deafblind, enabling them to make informed decisions and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to individuals who are Deafblind in their homes and communities.
  • Facilitate access to information and facilitate communication between individuals and their environments.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals to determine their level of support and empower them to participate fully in their communities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to ensure seamless support for individuals who are Deafblind.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Deafblindness, Deaf/Deafblind culture, and associated health-related concerns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with individuals who are Deafblind, or a willingness to learn and develop skills in this area.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, as required.
