Job Summary:
Brightshores is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our clinical laboratory team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of laboratory professionals to achieve high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with hospital administrators, physicians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans to optimize laboratory operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the laboratory remains current and compliant.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of laboratory staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results and data to support patient care and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the quality management team to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other external partners to ensure optimal laboratory operations.
- Ensure compliance with Brightshores' policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of combined clinical and leadership experience in a core laboratory setting.
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
- CSMLS Certification.
- Advanced level knowledge in Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience with laboratory software systems and quality management tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science Degree or College.
- Graduate of a recognized Quality Management Program.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Masters Degree which is health/business related.
- Canadian Healthcare Association Department Management Diploma or equivalent.
