Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our team at Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital. As a key member of our Medical Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage appointments, including history taking, physical examination, medical record-keeping, invoicing, prescriptions, and patient discharges.
  • Perform procedures, such as preparing patients, setting up supplies, and administering chemotherapy.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the daily flow of services, clients, and patient treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and referring hospitals.
  • Drive the VCA Canada experience and ensure our patients receive the highest quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician in British Columbia (or eligible).
  • Preference given for a minimum of two years of experience as an RVT, ideally in an emergency or referral setting.
  • Experience in providing sedation and monitoring in dogs and cats.
  • Exceptional time-management skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in performing medical calculations.
  • Ability to work well with others in a hospital that requires a multi-disciplinary team approach among the specialty services.
  • Compassionate care and superior client communication skills.

Advanced diagnostics and therapeutic services are provided by specialists in disciplines such as Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Surgical and Radiation Oncology, along with 24-hour emergency care and rehabilitation services. The addition of Medical Oncology in March 2024 completes our vision of being Vancouver Island's Pet Cancer Center.
