We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at UNIFOR CONSTRUCTION INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare building layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
- Prepare tenders and quotations for clients.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites.
- Survey building locations and levels.
- Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
- Estimate costs and materials for projects.
- Operate computer-aided design (CADD) software and other computer systems.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial buildings.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Permanent employment.
- English language proficiency.
- 35 hours of work per week.
