Position Summary
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical maintenance duties within a food production facility. Candidates should possess strong electrical and mechanical skills, along with experience in programmable logic controllers. This role operates under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Install conduits and wiring systems.
  • Set up a diverse range of electrical devices and control circuits.
  • Repair, rebuild, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical equipment.
  • Interpret logic diagrams and comprehend the operational principles of programmable logic controllers.
  • Address PLC and instrumentation issues effectively.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and fulfill work orders.
  • Exhibit exceptional mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Maintain and care for all electrical and electronic tools and equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven aptitude for problem-solving and diagnostics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with frequency converters, instrumentation, and calibration processes.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills (bilingual preferred).
  • Proficient in computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Education and Experience
  • Possess a non-construction electrician qualification (License C).
  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) in Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation and Control.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI Rockwell systems is preferred.
  • Background in an industrial setting, particularly in instrumentation, is advantageous.

  • Comply with local and provincial regulations.
  • Be available for emergency service calls as needed.
  • Capable of physical tasks such as climbing, lifting (up to 25 kg), and working in various environments.
  • Must be able to work in different temperature conditions and locations requiring safety equipment.
