About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at Popa. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of ethnic dishes, including East Indian cuisine, to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and manage kitchen operations to ensure efficient and safe food preparation and service.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality food service.
  • Supply Chain Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen and ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Urban area, central food commissary.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
