About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Redwood Residence Ltd. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Mobility and Transfers: Safely transfer residents from one location to another, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Meal Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve meals to residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for residents, including their living spaces and personal belongings.
  • Communication and Documentation: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, documenting resident information and care plans as required.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as falls or medical emergencies, using first aid and CPR skills as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Work Experience: Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Certifications and Licenses: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Health Care Aide Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client care and satisfaction.
