As a key member of the Metro Inc. team, the Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in driving sales growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in our retail stores.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Sales Growth and Profitability**: Assist the Store Manager in achieving or exceeding weekly, period, and fiscal year store goals and objectives, including sales, profit, margin targets, shrink targets, and labor targets.
- **Merchandising and Operations**: Work with the Store Manager to implement various merchandising programs, procedures, and processes designed to maximize operational efficiencies and profitability.
- **Health and Safety**: Ensure the store is maintained in accordance with all health and safety regulations as established by the company and regulatory authorities.
- **Leadership and Development**: Provide leadership by hiring, training, directing, and developing a staff that is customer-focused.
- **Market Intelligence**: Maintain a pulse on competitive activity in the local market area and provide recommendations to Operations to overcome competitive disadvantages.
- **Community Involvement**: Actively participate in store-based initiatives designed to enhance community involvement and enhance the store's image as a supporter of community activities.
**Requirements**
- 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising principles
