Corporate Financial Planning and Strategy Lead

Job Summary
Venterra Realty is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining a robust hands-on approach to financial management, actively engaging in all aspects of the financial forecasting process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of accurate and insightful financial forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports to provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Create and maintain financial models to evaluate different scenarios, assess the impact of business initiatives, and support investment decisions.
- Provide proactive and data-driven financial insights to support strategic decision-making and guide the overall business strategy.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial health of the organization and track progress toward strategic goals.
- Lead the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting.
- Partner with business unit FP&A teams to thoroughly understand each business segment and challenge performance as needed.
- Assist in the requirements gathering, product selection, and implementation of a new budgeting and planning software solution to optimize financial operations.
- Support improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Present financial information, analyses, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Escalate financial issues, breaches of cash balance targets and KPIs that exceed expectations.
- Create ad hoc analysis as required by evolving business needs.
- Oversee and enhance the post-investment review dashboard, providing recommendations to mitigate variances between actual and underwritten rates of return.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of a CPA and a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; An MBA or relevant professional designation (e.g. CFA, CBV) would be a significant asset.
- Minimum 7 years of financial leadership experience; Experience in the real estate industry, or in the multifamily sector would be preferred.
- Over 4 years' experience managing an FP&A Finance function.
- Previous leadership experience is required.
- Experience building and supporting complex financial models, developing & monitoring metrics, and preparing advanced analytic analysis.
- Proven ability to build positive long-term business relationships; Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset.
