Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is looking for a part-time educator to join our team at our learning center. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students and are committed to fostering their academic growth in mathematics and physics.
At Oxford Learning, our educators benefit from a structured environment where lesson plans are provided. You will receive comprehensive training in our unique educational philosophy and methodologies.
Position Requirements
All educators at Oxford Learning work during after-school hours and some weekends. A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities for summer engagement. Reliability and a positive attitude are essential.
This is an in-person role, and candidates must be able to commute to the learning center. Background checks are required.
We encourage applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Fourth-year university students with substantial tutoring experience may be considered
- Teaching certification is a plus
- Strong understanding of the Grades 9-12 math and physics curriculum, especially in areas such as Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Vectors.
Experience:
- Prior experience in teaching or tutoring math and physics at the secondary level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to enhance students' comprehension
- Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
As an Interactive Coach, you will work closely with students and have the following responsibilities:
- Instructing up to three students concurrently at varying levels
- Implementing both online and in-person teaching methods
- Adhering to Oxford Learning's educational practices
- Documenting post-lesson reflections
- Providing daily updates on student progress
- Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
