Position Overview:

University Canada West (UCW) is seeking qualified candidates for multiple continuing track faculty roles within the Master of Business Administration program, specifically in the Department of Quantitative Studies.

The courses available include offerings such as Accounting for Managers, Financial Management, Investment Analysis and Management, Personal Finance Planning, Global Financial Institutions Management, and Sustainability & Finance. A Financial Accounting Workshop is also part of the curriculum.

We are particularly interested in candidates who possess the expertise and capability to teach Financial Management.

Applicants should demonstrate a record of scholarly activity or research appropriate to the rank applied for, alongside proven success in teaching.

For those applying for continuing faculty roles in the MBA program, a relevant doctoral degree is required.

As a teaching-focused institution, candidates must have experience in delivering courses in a degree-granting program at both undergraduate and/or graduate levels, which includes course preparation, curriculum development, and the creation of online materials and lectures.

Furthermore, candidates should show a strong commitment to innovative teaching practices and engage in scholarly activities related to education.

These faculty positions are based on-campus.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the positions include a service component, so applicants should highlight any relevant service contributions, such as course or program development and committee involvement throughout their academic careers.

A Doctorate in Finance or a related field, or a Doctor of Business Administration from an accredited institution is essential.

Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching financial subjects at the graduate level is required, or substantial professional experience in finance roles such as Finance Manager, CFO, Financial Advisor, Financial Planner, or Portfolio Manager.

Possession of recognized finance certifications, such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM), is advantageous.

Candidates must be capable of elevating accounting and finance concepts to an MBA level and assessing students accordingly.
