Job Opportunity:

Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Lead Hand / Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team underground at our client Barrick's Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing productivity
  • Ensuring inspections are carried out on all equipment before use
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are serviceable and safe
  • Carrying out standard workplace inspection practices and procedures
  • Conducting pre-shift meetings
  • Training and mentoring team members

Requirements:

  • Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency
  • Ontario Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician trade license required (421A)
  • Red Seal Certification is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a lead-hand or supervisor role in a fast-paced underground mine environment
  • Ontario Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core
  • Supervisor Common Core
  • Strong background working with underground mobile mining equipment
  • Experience in managing breakdowns and scheduled servicing on underground mining equipment
  • Strong communications, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
