Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.
- Current Non-violent crisis intervention (NVCI) Certification.
- Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) Certification.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Certification.
- Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Certification an asset.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Mental Health Nursing within the past 3 years.
- Satisfactory performance appraisal in current position if internal.
- Excellent public relations, organizational, and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary setting.
- Documented commitment to continuing education through in-service, staff meetings, and self-motivated learning.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in mental health trauma care is an asset.
- Satisfactory Attendance if internal.
- Commitment to Patient Care & Safety and Service Excellence.
- Satisfactory vulnerable person's sector criminal background check.
- Must have and provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization (2 or more doses).
