This is an exciting opportunity at Alberta Health Services Edmonton Zone Medical Affairs to join the General Surgery team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physician to provide general medical care to patients with a wide variety of medical conditions within the Hospital Medicine portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to work to full scope of practice and be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in program development and evaluation to improve patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with evidence-based literature and best practices in patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a recognized Physician Assistant Education Program.
- Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) or Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) credential.
- Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of Hospital Medicine portfolio and General Surgery team.
