The Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Communications and Public Relations to join our team. As a key member of our corporate communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to promote the Authority's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Media Relations: Serve as the Authority's official spokesperson, responding to media inquiries and developing effective messaging to promote the Authority's brand.
- Communications Strategy: Plan and execute comprehensive communications strategies to engage internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, and the general public.
- Content Creation: Develop and disseminate high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content to support the Authority's communications objectives.
- Social Media Management: Oversee the management of the Authority's social media channels, ensuring timely and engaging content is posted to promote the Authority's brand and mission.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, public relations, and digital media, to develop and implement integrated communications campaigns.
- Performance Measurement: Continuously measure and review the performance of communications efforts, reporting on key metrics and trends to inform future communications strategies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, business, or public administration, or a minimum of five (5) years experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, with experience in a higher education setting preferred.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, as well as business and management principles in strategic planning and resource allocation.
