Wealthsimple is revolutionizing the financial industry with innovative technology and a commitment to security. As a key member of our Application Security and Posture Management team, you will play a vital role in protecting our customers' trust and ensuring the integrity of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit source code and perform code reviews for critical application changes to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Develop and maintain custom security libraries, tools, and services to enhance our security posture and protect against emerging threats.
  • Integrate tooling for automated security scanning, including Semgrep for SAST, SCA, and Secrets Detection, to ensure our applications are secure and compliant.
  • Lead bug bounty efforts and provide hands-on guidance for vulnerability remediation, fostering a proactive security culture within the development process.
  • Implement data pipelines to aggregate security data and build monitors and detection to alert us of potential compromises.
  • Design and implement attack scenarios to simulate real-world threats, allowing us to uncover potential weaknesses in our systems and infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Javascript and Ruby on Rails, with the ability to reason through Python and Java/Kotlin code bases.
  • Understanding of application security best practices and the ability to identify and propose fixes for common security gotchas.
  • Offensive security mindset, with the ability to think critically about potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate security best practices and strategy.
