The Role
As a Field Service Operator, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and on-site services for all aspects of waste services. This includes:
- Attending safety meetings and adhering to our Occupational Health and Safety Program.
- Completing waste pickups utilizing cube vans, pickup trucks, and equipment trailers.
- Segregating, packaging, and transporting hazardous wastes to our processing facility.
- Completing appropriate manifest and paperwork to support the waste pick up.
- Evaluating customer needs and communicating it back to the appropriate Sales Representatives or Project Coordinators.
- Responding to and supporting all Incident Response work.
- Operating small equipment such as forklifts, pumps, etc.
- Conducting field work including manual labor at remote project sites on an as needed basis.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.
- The ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials.
- The ability to learn and ensure waste is identified, transported, and disposed in accordance with Transport Canada and the Ministry of the Environment regulations.
- The ability to learn and complete appropriate Government Manifests and Bills of Lading to support the transportation of the waste pick ups.
- Willingness to participate in our paid-on call program.
- Willingness to practice Worksafe BC facial grooming standards that support the ability to wear a full-face respirator during all work shifts.
- The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Good computer and mobile phone device skills, with a willingness to learn Secure's training and other online applications.
