Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct feasibility studies and research on the operation and performance of electrical generation and distribution networks.
  • Oversee the work of technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts, and fellow engineers.
  • Prepare estimates for material costs and timelines, along with detailed reports and design specifications.
  • Design and develop electrical and electronic components, systems, and equipment.
  • Supervise and inspect the installation and functionality of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Establish maintenance and operational standards for electrical and electronic systems.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot electrical or electronic failures.
  • Prepare contract documents and assess tenders for construction or maintenance projects.
  • Conduct simulations and characterizations of micro or nanodevices, contributing to the development of new electronic products.
Supervisory Role

The position involves supervising a team of approximately 3-4 individuals.

Licenses and Certifications

Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association is required, or eligibility for registration.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in business intelligence and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Power Line Systems (PLS-CADD).
  • Familiarity with MS Office and networking hardware.
  • Ability to program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and manage SCADA systems.
