Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Services Laboratory Technician to join our team at Canada Building Materials. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials and liquids, analyzing test data, and performing various duties to ensure the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation to perform tests, investigations, and research.
  • Test and analyze products such as concrete, aggregate, and cement for plastic and hardened requirements.
  • Document results of tests and analyses, and prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials.
  • Conduct maintenance for the laboratory facility, plan for efficient use of materials and equipment, and perform statistical analyses and reports on cement and concrete performance.
  • Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering is preferred, with excellent communications skills and fundamental knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Valid Driver's License and CCIL/CSA certifications for testing concrete/aggregate would be an asset.
