Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
  2. Diagnose and enhance software applications for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, specifically the Allen Bradley Controllogix and Compactlogix PLC platforms using the RSLogix 5000 software suite. This includes managing industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution networks.
  3. Serve as the primary escalation point for control system technician teams, effectively escalating downtime issues to vendors or headquarters to restore equipment functionality.
  4. Utilize expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to optimize system utilization within facilities.
  5. Monitor material handling equipment metrics and collaborate with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to address electrical issues that hinder performance. Conduct assessments of control systems to enhance equipment reliability.
  6. Collaborate with Facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to strategize and coordinate the installation of new technologies, acting as a technical consultant for capital projects.
  7. Communicate technical challenges and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and maintenance teams, ensuring a clear understanding of production impacts and working closely with operations and engineering teams.
  8. Develop and implement training programs for Control Systems Technicians.
  9. Be capable of lifting up to 49 lbs and standing or walking for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Basic Qualifications:
  1. Degree or certification in Electronic Technology or equivalent experience.
  2. Over 5 years of experience with Motor Controls, including motor starters, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components.
  3. More than 5 years of experience programming HMI components.
  4. At least 5 years of experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming.
  5. 5+ years of experience with Robotics system components and controls.
  6. 3+ years of experience with SCADA systems and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  7. Experience in interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. 4+ years of experience in electrical fields or in the development, troubleshooting, and programming of control systems.
  3. 4+ years of experience in maintaining and developing advanced automation control systems.
  4. 3+ years of experience with various conveyor and sortation systems.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  6. Familiarity with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
