Truck Driver

At Standard Truck & Crane Ltd., we are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.
Key Responsibilities:- Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
- Obtain Special Permits: Obtain any necessary special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
- Operate Trucks: Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of our vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
- Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed, ensuring that our vehicles are always in good working condition.
- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure that all aspects of the vehicle are in good working order.
- Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all communication is clear and concise.
- Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo at all times, including tarping and securing cargo as needed.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
- Work Term: Work on a permanent basis.
- Work Language: Fluency in English is required.
- Hours: Work 40 hours per week.
