Job Summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution Architect to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions that meet the strategic needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise-level solutions that meet the strategic needs of the business.
  • Develop and maintain technical architecture and standards for the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards for the organization.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field.
Requirements
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in multiple IT areas with 3 years of experience in architecture, data management, applications system design, and integration.
  • Expert knowledge of current and emerging architecture, database systems, database design, applications systems design, and application integration standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.
  • Experience with Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming, or other Cloud Native architectures.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods utilizing best practices.
  • Knowledge of the City and IT department's strategic goals and objectives.
