We are seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright)
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and machinery. This position is essential for maintaining our commitment to safety and operational excellence through regular inspections, repairs, modifications, and maintenance tasks aimed at minimizing downtime.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Compensation: $44.13 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Complying with workplace safety standards and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Conducting preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery and plant support systems, focusing on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Engaging with preventive maintenance programs and maintaining detailed and accurate maintenance records.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
- Utilizing machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate necessary parts during maintenance or machinery setup.
- Employing precision tools, including Vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators, for accurate measurements.
- Fabricating custom parts and fixtures through arc welding, grinding, and oxyacetylene cutting.
- Assembling and installing various machinery and equipment, including mixers, saws, and conveyors.
- Executing alignment tasks and working with various coupling systems.
- Supporting World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
- Troubleshooting and repairing machinery during breakdowns to meet production demands.
- Performing tasks at heights as required.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
Are you the right fit for this role?
- Minimum education requirement: Grade 12.
- Must possess a valid Maintenance Millwright certification in the Province of Manitoba.
- 1-5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and experience with Maintenance SAP systems is preferred.
- Capability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts.
- Strong knowledge of machine shop practices, including lathe and milling operations.
- Understanding of bearings and their functions, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Machinist and/or welding certifications are advantageous.
- Willingness to perform overtime, on-call, or shift work as necessary.
- The facility operates on a 24/5 and 24/7 schedule.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A commitment to quality and service, aligned with the company's vision and values.
- The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of MS Office tools is required.
