Midway Nissan, a distinguished member of the Drive Autogroup, is currently in search of a qualified Automotive Technician to enhance our expanding workforce. The successful applicant will possess a robust mechanical skill set and the capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and repairs on vehicles while providing updates to Service Advisors.
- Execute tasks outlined in the repair order efficiently and in alignment with dealership standards.
- Perform test drives and assess components and systems utilizing diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and prepare various automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Engage directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional services required and provide cost and time estimates for further repairs.
- Ensure shop equipment is operational by adhering to usage guidelines, troubleshooting issues, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and alerting Service Management about equipment status.
- Stay informed on all automotive product knowledge, manufacturer updates, bulletins, recalls, and technical advancements.
- Carry out warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Licensed Technician.
- Must possess 310S certification and Class A Automotive Mechanic's license.
- Other certifications or licenses as required by provincial regulations.
- OSSD or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong background in automotive repair.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
Skills:
- Aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional time management abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Physical capability to lift 50lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching.
- Proficient in the use of power tools, machinery, and hand tools.
- Ability to communicate automotive issues effectively.
- Capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
