Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the receipt, handling, and processing of surgical pathology specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze surgical pathology specimens to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective specimen processing.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to laboratory staff, clinicians, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Current general registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is mandatory.
  • Recent clinical experience of 3-5 years in Histology is required.
  • Proficiency in embedding specimens of all complexity is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in immunohistochemistry is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Good employment and attendance record.
