Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the transformation and optimization of our data ecosystem. You will be responsible for architecting scalable and efficient data pipelines that support critical business functions, including editorial, subscription management, and advertising.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Infrastructure Mastery: Design and implement robust data pipelines using Snowflake, AWS, and Databricks.
- Problem-Solving Excellence: Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to devise elegant solutions for complex data challenges.
- Data Stewardship: Implement encryption, access controls, and compliance measures to safeguard data.
- Performance Optimization: Fine-tune queries, indexing, and ETL processes to transform raw data into actionable insights with maximum efficiency.
- AI Enablement: Manage, prepare, and structure data to support ingestion by machine learning models.
- Data Champion: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and efficiency across data teams.
Qualifications
- Data Architecture: Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable data architectures, with a strong focus on data lakes and data warehouses.
- ETL and Data Pipelines: Proven experience in building and optimizing ETL pipelines using tools like Airflow, NiFi, or custom Python scripts.
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Data Governance: Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Programming and Optimization: Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and optionally Scala or Java.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
