The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council is seeking an experienced professional accountant to fill the dynamic financial leadership position of Director of Finance. This role offers a unique opportunity to advance your career and contribute to the success of our organization.
Job SummaryThe Bridging Director of Finance will work closely with the Director of Finance to develop and administer all aspects of financial services, including budget preparation, coordination of the annual audit, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be given a thorough orientation to all aspects of the tribal council financial responsibilities and will be expected to transition into the role of Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and administer all aspects of financial services, including budget preparation and coordination of the annual audit.
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage the Finance team staff and ensure effective financial management, control, and accountability.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective financial management and reporting.
- Current Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) and five plus (5+) years' intermediate financial administration and supervisory experience.
- Expert-level knowledge and practice of GAAP, and effective procedures for financial management, control, and accountability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop concise summaries of complex analyses and data.
- A self-starter with ability to initiate tasks, work toward goals, and work independently.
- Ability to interpret and write financial policies.
- Knowledge and effective working skills in Adagio, Adobe, MS Word, Excel, and e-mail.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience working with First Nations would be considered an asset.
- Possess a valid BC Driver's License and have daily access to reliable vehicle.
- Provide references and an acceptable criminal record check.
Competitive benefits, relocation costs coverage, and salary based on qualifications and experience. Salary Range: $105,000 – $120,000.
