Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Health and Safety initiatives across the facility.
  • Serve as the Management Representative for workplace safety regulations.
  • Manage and process Workers' Compensation claims and documentation.
  • Oversee the WSIB program, including the development of return-to-work strategies and claims oversight.
  • Assess training requirements for safety and deliver comprehensive skill enhancement programs.
  • Engage in regular inspections and safety discussions on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and review safety policies and operational procedures.
  • Conduct thorough risk evaluations and facilitate root cause analyses.
  • Monitor the progress of action plans and provide regular updates.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training is assigned and completed effectively.
  • Review and evaluate contractor safety protocols and practices.
  • Foster a culture of safety within the workplace and promote a secure working environment.
  • Meet all standards for food safety and employee well-being.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a health and safety capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in managing WSIB claims and developing return-to-work plans.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and guide teams effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Self-driven and focused on achieving results.
