Registered Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Extendicare Canada Inc. in a full-time position.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, enhancing the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily. This includes observing, reporting, and recording vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents/patients, as well as ensuring care is provided with established nursing standards and principles.
Responsibilities:- Assess patients/residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans.
- Monitor health, note changes in condition, and assess need for referral to doctors; process and implement physicians' orders.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments as required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care and services provided.
- Current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Approved Institutions for the province.
- Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred.
- Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, as well as knowledge in Infection Control Practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
