About the Opportunity

As part of the Group Risk Management team at Royal Bank of Canada, the Associate Director, ESG Risk Integration, will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and communicating our approach to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk into our existing risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of our ESG risk management framework and ensure its effective implementation across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and assess ESG risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate or capitalize on them.
  • Communicate ESG risk management best practices and industry trends to internal stakeholders, including risk management, compliance, and sustainability teams.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to ESG risk management.
  • Monitor and report on ESG risk management performance and progress against established goals and objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A strong understanding of ESG risk management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess complex ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Experience working in a risk management or sustainability role, preferably in a financial services organization.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or environmental studies.
