Position Overview

The Revenue Assurance Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all revenue streams within the hotel. This position is essential for maintaining the financial health of the establishment and ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough audits of daily income received by the hotel, ensuring all revenue sources such as Rooms, Food & Beverage, and other income are accurately recorded in the General Ledger accounting system.
  • Oversee the daily revenue statistics and reports for the hotel.

Daily Activities

  • Prepare and disseminate Daily Revenue Reports to the management team.
  • Review all paid-outs, revenue adjustments, and allowances for accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
  • Examine the Night Manager's report on a daily basis.
  • Verify guest rates and address any discrepancies with the Front Office.
  • Ensure all complimentary and house-use rooms are documented appropriately.
  • Monitor guest accounts with open balances and those exceeding credit limits.
  • Review revenue adjustments and market segment reports.
  • Provide training sessions for Front Office staff as needed.

Food & Beverage Responsibilities

  • Verify that all Food & Beverage discounts are justified and properly recorded in the POS system.
  • Audit voided checks in F&B outlets for proper approval.
  • Review house use and entertainment checks for appropriate signatures.
  • Investigate discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct training for the F&B team periodically.

Additional Duties

  • Ensure the Guest Ledger, Advanced Deposit Ledger, and City Ledger are reconciled with the General Ledger daily.
  • Confirm that POS and Opera systems are balanced.
  • Maintain compliance with audit standards.
  • Account for other departmental revenues such as telephone and parking services.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
