Assistant Department Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Department Manager to join our team at Maxi. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of retail professionals to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing team of retail professionals to achieve sales and customer service goals.
Maintain high standards of merchandising, visual displays, and store appearance to create an engaging shopping environment.
Manage store operations, including inventory management, stockroom organization, and cash handling procedures.
Collaborate with the store management team to develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and visual merchandising plans.
Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to inform business decisions and drive growth.
Recruit, train, and develop a diverse team of retail professionals to foster a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
Proven track record of leading high-performing teams, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail management, or a related field an asset.
