Job Summary

VCA Toronto Veterinary Referral and Emergency Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team of experienced professionals. As a Veterinary Surgeon at VCA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality surgical care to our patients, working collaboratively with our team of specialists and general practitioners to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team in a state-of-the-art facility. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of cases, from routine surgeries to complex cases requiring specialized care. You will be expected to maintain high standards of patient care, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and contribute to the development of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform surgical procedures with precision and skill, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with our team of specialists and general practitioners to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear and concise information about their pets' care and treatment.
  • Contribute to the development of our surgical services, including the development of new procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in veterinary surgery.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.
  • Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the province of Ontario.
  • Experience in veterinary surgery, preferably in a referral or emergency setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
