About the Role:

The Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our dispatch functions. This individual will be responsible for maintaining effective communication processes, managing a network of drivers, supervisors, and work crews, and providing accurate directions to pickup and delivery facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the daily dispatch plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of outbound load execution.
  • Maintain scheduling, discipline, and performance management for drivers and third-party agents.
  • Continuously monitor workloads throughout the department and pursue additional resources when justified.
  • Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
  • Create initiatives and procedures to maximize organizational ability to service clients with efficiency.
  • Break down, verify, and process driver delivery paperwork.
  • Maintain and update the departmental communication log.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on delivery equipment for drivers.
  • Ensure open and effective dialogue with delivery personnel for fairness and clarity.
  • Create and maintain logs for quick checks and assessments to ensure quality.
  • Respond to complaints with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a dispatch or call center environment is an asset.
  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience is an asset (shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations, and regulatory requirements).
  • Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Clean Criminal Record.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Flexible, able to deal with change.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
