Job Overview

We are expanding our Talent and Development team to enhance support for our bakeries and Team Members.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a backup for the Bakery Quality Manager, ensuring coverage for Quality Technicians as needed, including addressing customer feedback.
  2. Conduct shelf-life assessments on products following established protocols.
  3. Perform daily inspections and document findings. Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the Bakery Quality Manager.
  4. Assist in the development and delivery of quality training programs alongside the Bakery Quality Manager, ensuring all bakery employees are informed of quality standards.
  5. Oversee the verification and documentation of product specifications.
  6. Inspect incoming raw materials, processes, and finished goods to confirm adherence to quality benchmarks.
  7. Ensure proper labeling, production codes, best before dates, and carton labeling are maintained.
  8. Conduct sampling of the plant environment, equipment, water, raw materials, and finished products for microbiological and analytical testing.
  9. Support trials and initial production approval runs in compliance with Stage Gate protocols.
  10. Manage product or ingredient control and make appropriate dispositions.
  11. Assist in maintaining all quality programs at the site level.
  12. Participate in and support internal, third-party, CFIA, and FDA audits.
  13. Identify and report any non-conformance issues or incidents, aiding the Bakery Quality Manager with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  14. Complete inspections for glass and brittle plastics, pest control, and overall plant conditions.
  15. Support the Bakery Quality Manager with Right First Time data measurements and consumer complaint investigations.
  16. Document and log analytical test results for each production line, ensuring compliance with company and customer specifications.
  17. Complete shift reports and audit documentation as necessary.
  18. Review and file certificates of analysis and manage data entry.
  19. Issue Non-Conformance reports for incoming ingredients or deviations.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications:
  1. Flexibility to work rotational shifts and weekends as required.
  2. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing sector.
  4. Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.
  5. Strong understanding of food safety programs (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Quality Systems.
