Job Title: Structural Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Arcadis. As a key member of our Building Structural Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural solutions for various projects, including buildings and underground structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design teams to achieve project delivery.
  • Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and clients.
  • Carry out structural modeling, analysis, and design.
  • Prepare and review structural reports and drawings.
  • Review construction submittals.
  • Identify structural deficiencies and provide remedial options.
  • Review constructability, staging drawings, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Work with construction teams to discuss best solutions.
  • Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders as needed.
  • Coordinate engineering and commercial issues with the construction team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum university degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional registration with EGBC as a P.Eng, SE designation preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in structural design projects, including buildings and underground structures.
  • Design experience with complex building and underground projects.
  • Past experience working on underground and/or surface rapid transit projects (subway, LRT) is an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong design and construction support coordination skills.
  • Proficient in structural analysis software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Acrobat/Bluebeam.
