Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Scrum Master to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for driving team effectiveness by identifying and removing impediments, supporting the team, and encouraging practices in accordance with agile principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Facilitation: Facilitate agile ceremonies including iteration planning, iteration review, retrospectives, and daily standups to ensure the team is working efficiently and effectively.
  • Impediment Removal: Identify and remove impediments that are hindering the team's progress, and direct obstacles to appropriate owners for quick resolution.
  • Agile Coaching: Coach the development team and help lead and ensure the 'agile mindset' is fully adopted and understood.
  • Process Improvement: Facilitate identifying and enacting improvement strategies to increase the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and nurture strong partnering relationships with Product Owner/Business Sponsor and stakeholders to ensure the team is aligned with business objectives.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the team, stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure everyone is informed and aligned with the team's progress.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, business, Information sciences or other related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of IT experience, 5+ years of performing hands-on Scrum Master role, and 7+ years of People Management experience and/or leading large cross-functional/cross-regional teams on major organizational projects.
  • Skills: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, and individual may have Scrum Master Certification (CSM).
