We are currently seeking a skilled Product Compliance Engineer/Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position is located in our Nun's Island office and will report directly to the Manager of Product Compliance.

As a member of our diverse workforce, you will collaborate with a group of dedicated professionals, innovative thinkers, and industry disruptors.

Position Overview

Our Montreal location is in search of a Product Compliance Engineer/Specialist. The ideal candidate will spearhead product certification initiatives and provide essential technical support to our Sales team and other internal stakeholders. This role will also serve as a specialist and intermediary between various departments, including Innovation, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, and standards organizations.

Key Responsibilities


• Manage certification projects involving cross-functional teams.


• Act as the certification liaison between IPEX products and external testing agencies; initiate and oversee processes to standardize certification across the organization.


• Review certification expenses, authorize invoices, and allocate costs to the appropriate accounts as necessary.


• Design, develop, and maintain IPEX's product quality plans in accordance with certification standards as outlined in Technical Services procedures.


• Assist Operations in addressing non-conformance reports from certification agencies and coordinate efforts to ensure consistent Quality Control and Quality Assurance.


• Represent IPEX in standard development processes such as CSA, ASTM, UL, and BNQ through active participation in correspondence and meetings.


• Contribute to the new product development process by serving as a key resource for understanding standards and certification protocols.


• Support the Purchasing and Sourcing departments by providing necessary product certification information.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Skills


• A University degree in Engineering, with a focus on Design.


• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the development of piping or pressure vessels using thermoplastic materials.


• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.


• Proficient in applying testing and scientific methodologies.


• Strong project management capabilities and familiarity with MS Office Suite.


• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.


• Membership in OIQ or PEO, with knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems.


• Experience in sales is considered an asset.


• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
