Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy equipment, including diesel trucks and associated heavy-duty equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanics and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel trucks and associated heavy-duty equipment
  • Use various power tools, hand instruments, and cutting-edge equipment to diagnose and repair equipment
  • Complete daily reports, work orders, and order necessary parts
  • Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
  • Certified Red Seal Mechanic or second-year Apprentice with experience required
  • 2+ years' experience as a Mechanic
  • Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records
  • Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
  • Exert physical effort, including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
  • Use fine motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity
  • Ability to kneel, crawl, and climb

Working Conditions

  • Will vary based on weather conditions
  • May include exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, and fumes
