FortisBC is seeking a skilled Technical Analyst to join our team. As a Technical Analyst, you will provide technical support to our end users, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their jobs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide frontline technical support to our end users, resolving hardware and software issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete departmental helpdesk/deskside functions, including problem receiving, recording, and tracking.
- Action technology service requests, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
- Provide support and tracking for mobile and smart devices, ensuring seamless integration with our systems.
- Complete upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring our systems remain up-to-date and secure.
- Repair computer software and/or hardware, working with external vendors as needed.
- Liaise with senior support on behalf of clients, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
- Deploy device images and software packages, ensuring a smooth and efficient rollout.
- Acquire quotes and procurement of necessary hardware and software, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Set-up/receive/deliver PC equipment, recycle of excess surplus equipment, and record software and hardware asset modifications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's computer systems, staying current with the latest technologies and trends.
- Estimate/complete a series of tasks required for a minor project, demonstrating your ability to work independently and effectively.
Requirements:
- 2-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in related work experience.
- Familiar with current operating systems applicable to the job.
- Familiar with imaging processes, software deployment, and maintaining business contacts with suppliers, service reps, and other businesses.
- Familiar with Windows Server-based network environment, including user maintenance, scheduling, printer configuration, remote connectivity, etc.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, collaboration, and communication systems.
- Knowledge of peripherals and network-attached devices, including but not limited to printers, scanners, plotters, cameras, mobile, and smart devices.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's license.
What You Need to Know:
- This role is covered under the FortisBC/MoveUP Collective Agreement.
- If you are a MoveUP employee covered by LOU 42 and are the successful candidate, you may remain in LOU 42.
