We are seeking a highly organized and efficient individual to join our team as a Medical Transportation Coordinator. This role will provide administrative support to our Medical Transportation Program, ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide general office functions, including taking incoming calls, typing, maintaining filing systems, and coordinating appointments for clients.
- Communication: Participate in scheduled staff meetings, record, type, and distribute minutes.
- Supply Management: Maintain adequate general office supply inventory for the Medical Transportation Call Centre.
- Form Preparation: Prepare necessary forms, certificates, and medical attendance, transportation warrants, and distribute copies as necessary.
- Transportation Coordination: Coordinate medical transportation to ensure maximum economy and efficiency.
- Client Education: Inform and educate the Band Membership of the First Nations and Inuit Health (FNIH) role and responsibilities of patient transportation assistance and client responsibilities when medical travel assistance is required.
- Appointment Coordination: Coordinate appointments with attending Physician's clinics.
- Client Support: Assist clients with making appointments as necessary.
- Reporting: Prepare month-end reports and monthly inventory reports.
- Education: Minimum Certificate in Administration; Combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.
- Teamwork: Able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- First Nations Experience: Experience working within a First Nations Organization and/or working with First Nations is an asset.
- Language Skills: Ability to speak/understand Cree is a definite asset.
- Driver's License: Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
